Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 10, 2012 <br />Page 11 of 12 <br /> <br />Russ discussed the plans for LMC amendments coming forward from the Building <br />Code Board of Appeals. There will be representatives from HPC, Sustainability <br />Advisory Board and Planning Commission. He noted that Brauneis had been invited <br />to be the representative for Planning Commission. <br />Tengler stated his support for the SRU Administrative Amendment for the 2051 <br />Dogwood St project. Software development is a good fit for the CTC. He also asked <br />what is Wayfinding. <br />Russ explained that Wayfinding is industry standard word for directional signs. <br />Lipton requested the addition of more bike racks in downtown. <br />Russ stated the department has $10,000 in this year’s capital improvement projects <br />for additional bike racks. He also noted additional money is requested for next year. <br />Pritchard asked about the changes to the Lucky Pie site. <br />Russ stated the changes are the result of an Administrative SRU. The request has <br />been to move the special events from the south parking lot area to the area east of <br />the building. Additional parking will be provided with the paving of the lot to the south. <br />The addition of the 4-way stop sign at Pine and Front has changed the access to the <br />site. The fence was added to the east side for the special events can serve beer. <br />They have also amended their liquor license. <br />The following items are scheduled for the Overflow meeting: May <br />tentatively <br />24, 2012. <br /> <br />Loftus Development – Safeway Redevelopment Site: A request for a <br /> <br />preliminary subdivision plat, preliminary planned unit development (PUD) <br />plan and a special review use (SRU) to allow for the redevelopment of the <br />former Safeway site into a mixed used community consisting of two (2) <br />mixed use buildings totaling 9,500 SF around a pedestrian plaza and three <br />(3) residential apartment buildings (160 units) and parking garage on the <br />remainder of the site. (Continued from the May 10, 2012 <br />meeting.) <br /> <br /> Case Manager: Troy Russ, Director of Planning and Building Safety <br />Staff stated the public notice clearly states the meeting for the Loftus Development <br />might not be held if City Council does not remand the item to Planning Commission. <br />He advised the commission they would probably be comparing the requested <br />changes to why they denied the original request and if they remain the same <br />reasons. <br />Russ stated if the Loftus Development discussion is lengthy then the Comp Plan <br />th <br />discussion will be heard at the June 14 meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
