Historical Commission
Minutes
January 16,2013
Williams said that he could research the cheapest way to print the pamphlets. A budget
for printing the pamphlet for distribution at various locations will be on the February
agenda.
E.Update on project to show the location of coal mines in Louisville:
Bridget Bacon met with
Martin Ogle, a new citizen of Louisville who is working on a powerpoint presentation about the
interaction between history and landscape, to discuss the mine map project. There is a CU
graduate student working on this project as well who suggested doing it online first. Beth and
Bridget suggested this could tie in with the GIS program of the City. Further updates to come.
Beth noted that the 2013 Summer Reading program at the Library will be “things that are
underground” so this project could fit right in.
F.Chairperson’s Report:
Dan Mellish noted that he is excited about the new direction and
energy, and the potential for making the Museum more relevant in the community.
G.Commission Comments and Discussion Items for Next Meeting:
none.
H.Close Fundraising Board Meeting and Adjourn:
The meeting adjourned at 8:12PM.
City of Louisville
Louisville Historical Museum
749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027
303-665-9048 (phone) 303-335-4550 (fax) www.louisvilleco.gov
