<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1149 <br />SERIES 1994 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8.08, WEEDS, OF TITLE 8 OF <br />THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING DEFINITIONS TO <br />SECTION 8.08.010, AMENDING SECTION 8.08.020 AND ENACTING <br />A NEW SECTION 8.08.025 TO SPECIFY AND PROVIDE FOR METHODS <br />OF WEED CONTROL ON PROPERTY ZONED AGRICULTURAL. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, C.R.S S:31-15-401 authorizes the City to implement <br />regulations for the control of weeds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has undertaken to regulate and control the <br />growth of weeds within the City and adopted regulations generally <br />codified in Chapter 8.08 of the Louisville Municipal Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that said Chapter is <br />in need of revision to clarify obligations for the control of weeds <br />within the City, to specify means and methods of weed control on <br />agricul tural property and to provide greater effectiveness in <br />controlling the growth of noxious weeds. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Section 8.08.010 of the Louisville Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended by the addition of new subsections E, F, and <br />G, which provide for the definition of additional terms, to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />8.08.010 Definitions. <br /> <br />E. rrChemical management rr means the use of herbicides <br />or plant growth regulators to disrupt the growth of <br />weeds. <br /> <br />F. rrMechanical control rr means those methodologies or <br />management practices that physically disrupt plant <br />growth, including but not limited to tilling, <br />mowing, burning, mulching, hand pulling, and <br />hoeing. <br /> <br />G. rrPlant growth regulatorsrr means a substance used <br />for controlling or modifying plant growth processes <br />by retarding the rate of growth or rate of <br />maturation or otherwise altering the behavior or <br />plant growth; except that it shall not include <br />substances to the extent that they are intended as <br />plant nutrients, nutritional chemicals, plant <br />inoculant, and soil amendments. <br /> <br />1 <br />
