We
believe that the comprehensive plan is a very important and speaks to the needs of the
community, except for a few areas on the framework map: that seem to be inconsistent with the
vision of the plan. Specifically we would like to brim. up Area 7.
The Comprehensive plan speaks of building housing that "will be directed at meeting a wider
range of product types"'. We believe that the "Urban Estates" zoning does not fit this proposal..
We already. have many. areas in Louisville that are being: used as such, and these mansions
would not fit in with the surrounding <tre~t.
The plan to build housing for "empty r}estets"" i behove is a not only a good idea, But fits in with
the needs of our city. Louisville is aging, and that aging population will continually want to
move out of larger homes opening there up for families. But when they go to find a place that
better accommodates their needs thf:y are unable to find this type of housing in Louisville. We
are fourth generation Boulder Gou~nfy residents, and we are concerned that our parents
are giving % their Social Security r~hecks to pay Boulder Coup#,~ for the property #ax an
their homes, which they have owned for 4f1 years, and are now unable to afford to live in
this county; and feel cheated becaus+~ they have no options. The majority ofetrri-older
folks could afford Boulder County if floe zoning laws allowed them to five in their'"Urban
Estates" of the '1~60`s and have extended family move in and!©r ren# out par# ot~ their
tlrl~an Esta#e. The rules far lower density do not address the alder generation, and
