2005 Comp Plan -Utilities <br />As part of the Comprehensive Plan Update (Plan) the Public Works Department and <br />project consultants undertook are analysis of the impacts of various land use scenarios <br />on the City's utility system. In the context of the Utility Master Plan, we concluded that <br />the utility system can accommoclatE~ the land use scenarios being contemplated. <br />Please find below a summary of points from the utility analysis listed by utility system. <br />Wastewater Utility System <br />The City's current WastewatE~r Plant is permitted for up to 3.4 million gallons per <br />day (mgd). <br />The current Wastewater Treatment Plant site can accommodate up to 4.2 mgd. <br />No major improvements to transmission mains or lift stations are needed other <br />than Areas 3 & 4. <br />Water Utility System <br />• The City's current water treatment capacity is 13 mgd. <br />• The City's Howard Berry ~Nat;er Treatment Plant can be readily expanded from 5 <br />mgd to 10 mgd. <br />• No upgrades to transmission mains are needed to accommodate land uses <br />identified in the Comp Plan other than area 4. <br />• The projected raw water demand needed to serve development contemplated <br />within the Comp Plan can be met by completing projects identified in the Raw <br />Water Master Plan. <br />• 2005 Peak Day to date - 8 mgd, Historic Peak Day - 10 ~/2 mgd in 2000. <br />See tab 13 in the Comp Plan notebook for reference material related to utility analysis. <br />G:AComprehensive Plans\Cirywide Comp Plan UpdateACiiry Council\2005CompPlan-Utilities 07.12.05 Phare.doc <br />
