Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 4, 2013 <br />Page 3of 3 <br />RETENTION MEETINGS <br />AlkonisProperty- <br />TheBoulder CountyHousing Authority gave City Council a tour ofJosephine Commons, <br />a senioraffordable housing developmentin Lafayette. <br />HankDalton-There is a contract by the Boulder County Housing Authorityto purchase <br />theAlkonisproperty. Louisville expectsasimilar development toJosephineCommons <br />with possibly more units. <br />Michael Menaker-As City Council considers bonding optionsthe Cityshould consider the <br />impact on commercial properties not just residential. Finance staff will provide <br />information at its next meeting. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTBRIEFING <br />RTD- <br />Heather Balser spoke aboutthe Northwest Area Mobility Study (NAMS) which will <br />reexaminethe Northwest area and mobility options including rail and Bus Rapid Transit. The <br />Boulder County Commissioners will appoint a new RTD Board Member representing Louisville <br />and Boulder County.The City will provide an update at a future meetingand have the new RTD <br />Board member speak to the Commission. <br />Grain Elevator- <br />Two proposals submitted. Aaron is working to put a group together to review <br />these. <br />Phillips66- <br />Nothing new to report. <br />REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br />– <br />Michael Menaker suggested members of BRAD walk through LoHigh in Denver because at each <br />bridge termination, there is a pedestrian area that could be a potential model for Louisville. <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING <br />Discuss Commercial and Resident property tax comparisons. <br />Update on water and patios. <br />Introduce the new RTD director <br />ADJOURN– <br />The meeting adjournedat 8:45a.m. <br /> <br />
