<br />CIPs may be less expensive to complete ahead of proposed timeline, because current <br />construction costs will probably be lower than future costs for the same project. <br />Discussion of supplementing projects with donations, e.g. local companies providing <br />new trees and planting services for the Arboretum. <br />VIII.Library talks— 1) Ryan Schmitt of Botanical Interests will present a program about <br />Wednesday, March 6 in the Library meeting room at 7:00. <br />seed starting on <br />Announcement should be emailed two to three times starting the week of Feb. 18; also <br />placed on the calendar on the City website and in the Daily Camera and Hometown <br />Weekly if possible. Shelly offered to produce posters to be placed at the Library and <br />the Rec Center. HFAB members should have nametags for the event; and some kind <br />of light refreshment will be offered. 2) It was decided that the second ‘Library’ talk of <br />the year should be a pruning workshop and tree identification walk at the Arboretum, <br />which could take place during the dedication of the pergola (tentatively scheduled for <br />Saturday, June 22 at 10:00.) <br />IX.Arbor Day 2013—Current plan (pending approval by school participants) is to present <br />a tree planting program on Thursday, April 18 at either Louisville Elementary or <br />Fireside Elementary. Chris will contact the schools to confirm the date and schedule a <br />time. <br />X.Arboretum Xeric Gardens renovation; Pergola dedication—Mark has created some <br />conceptual design plans that will be discussed at the next few meetings. Any work to <br />be done on the gardens would take place after June 1, when the pergola project will be <br />complete. <br />XI.Spring Utility insert—is distributed in City utility bills throughout the month of March, <br />so will not be of use for announcing the March 6 Library talk.
