City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> February 19, 2013 <br /> Page 2 of 11 <br /> Board or Committee to advise the City and residents on technological matters. 3)The <br /> City eliminated the Louisville public access TV Station. 4) The City approved the <br /> privatization of the statewide government telecommunication watchdog (GMTC). 5) The <br /> City Council will approve on second reading, an ordinance, which postpones the cable <br /> franchise renewal process for one year. <br /> APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br /> Mayor Muckle moved to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Council member <br /> Jasiak. All were in favor. <br /> A. Approval of Bills <br /> B. Approval of February 5, 2013 Minutes <br /> C. Approval of Appointment of Matthew Machado as a Full Member of the <br /> Local Licensing Authority <br /> COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> Mayor Muckle reported on a recent trip to Washington, D.C., where he, Deputy City <br /> Manager Balser, other Mayors along US 36, Boulder County Commissioners, and staff <br /> members lobbied for transportation funding. They met with Colorado representatives, <br /> (seven congress members and 2 senators) and members of the Federal Transit Agency <br /> senior staff to lobby for funding for both phases of U.S. 36 and the Northwest Rail line. <br /> The discussion also included creating quiet zones. Deputy City Manager Balser noted <br /> the delegation also included a RTD representative and a member of the High <br /> Performance Transportation Enterprise, which is the financial branch of CDOT. They <br /> also met with TIFIA office, which is helping to finance the first and second phase of U.S. <br /> 36. <br /> Mayor Muckle reported on the Colorado Preservation, Inc. Saving Places Conference, <br /> held February 5—8 in Denver, which he, Council member Keany, Historic Preservation <br /> Commissioners and City staff members attended. He found it interesting and <br /> informative and recommended it to anyone interested in historic preservation. <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> City Manager Fleming thanked the City staff who participated in the training workshops <br /> held on President's Day. He also thanked HR Manager Kathleen Hix and her staff for <br /> putting the training sessions together and the City employees who were trainers. He <br /> reported on the Colorado City/County Manager's conference in Glenwood Springs. <br /> Ethics was discussed and he noted the City of Louisville has one of the strongest ethics <br /> codes written into its Charter.
