Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />Feb. 12, 2013 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br /> John Heinbach, 7533 Panorama Dr. – Mr. Heinbach is happy that the City <br />is finally building this trail to make this path accessible to all. <br /> <br />IX. Discussion: 2014 Open Space Capital Improvement Projects <br /> On page 8 of the Board Packet, the 5 year CIP proposed projects (with budgets) <br />have been laid out. <br /> This is on the agenda tonight because the board expressed an interest in being <br />more involved with the review and recommendations of CIP’s. Staff and Council <br />are looking for ideas and/or comments on the proposed CIP projects for 2014. <br /> OSAB Ideas: <br />o In 2-3 years, Hecla Reservoir Restoration <br />o New trails, as identified by future public meeting (Trails Open House) <br />and/or OSAB <br /> <br />X. Discussion: 2013 OSAB Goals <br /> New Trails Construction Plan – Identification, Public Process and Budgeting <br /> Development of a Comprehensive Wildlife Management Plan, with a priority on <br />coyote management <br /> Review of Conservation Trust Open Space & Parks Fund spending and <br />benchmarking of expenditures for open space acquisition and operation <br /> Invest in interpretative / educational / volunteer coordination, staffing and <br />resources <br /> <br />XI. Discussion: Coyote Management & Education Update <br /> Resolution: It is the opinion of OSAB that the coyote population and <br />coyote/human interactions are already problematic in our city. OSAB requests <br />the City to direct additional resources to mitigate the already serious coyote <br />management problems. <br /> <br />XII. Discussion Items for Next Meeting on March 13 <br /> A University of Denver student research presentation: Light Pollution as an <br />Ecological Trap for Moth Communities <br /> Planning for New Trails <br /> <br />XIII.
