The City should encourage the use of solar energy in new <br />Policy E-1.5: <br />development and redevelopment. <br />The City should encourage and pursueexpansionopportunitiesof <br />Policy E-1.6: <br />wind or solar energy for on-farm electrical needs on Parks & Recreation and <br />Open Space–owned agriculturalland. <br />Principle E-2. The City should increase its internal purchase of renewable <br />energy and expand opportunities for renewable energy where practical. <br /> The City should promote increased energy efficiency in <br />Principle E-3. <br />residential and commercial properties. <br /> Increase outreach and education efforts with local energy efficiency <br />Policy E-3.1: <br />contractors, designers, home and business owners. <br />Work with partner agencies to offer free and subsidized <br />Policy E-3.2: <br />weatherization services to qualifying low-income residents. <br />Strive to remain current with the following model building codes <br />Policy E-3.3: <br />from the International Code Council: International Energy Conservation Code, <br />International Green Construction Code. <br /> The City should establish community-wide energy consumption <br />Policy E-3.4: <br />baseline statistics to inform future conversations regarding City energy policies. <br />
