Open Space Advisory Board
Meeting Notes
March 13, 2013
Tom responded by saying there is no earmarked percentage. The
o
Board prioritizes potential properties for purchase (we would
purchase with partner jurisdictions) and, in Tom’s opinion, there are
sufficient funds in the current balance to purchase the most
desirable properties.
Spencer and Laura talked about the continued commitment to
o
building the fund, the effects of market pressures and property
scarcity, and OSAB’s commitment to acquiring more properties.
IX. Discussion:Damyanovich Management Plan Options
Presented by Catherine Jepson, Open Space Specialist
Damyanovich Open Space consists of 12.8 acres of land divided by
Dyer road. The property is located South of Davidson Mesa Open
Space.
The land consists of mostly meadow grasses with some native grasses.
See pages 37-40 in the March Board Packet for details on potential
management options that are being considered.
Staff would like to have the RFP out in August for management plan
development of this property.
Board recommendations for Damyanovich: Formalize current grazing
and haying agreements for the North portion, support bee-hive and 4-H
education projects, and plan for the development of a trail head (20 car
parking, kiosk, and trail connection) in the South portion.
X.
