I 03170701 <br />Page:1 of 2 <br />09/14/2011 11:16 AM RF:$16.00 DF:$0.00 <br />Boulder County Clerk,CO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 57 <br />SERIES 2011 <br />A RESOLUTIONDESIGNATING THE THOMAS HOUSE <br />LOCATEDAT 700 LINCOLN AVENUE AN HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council an historic landmark <br />application for the Thomas House, located at700 Lincoln Avenue, on propertylegally <br />described asLots 12, 13 and 14, Block 8, Pleasant Hill Addition, City of Louisville, State <br />of Colorado; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the Louisville Historic Preservation Commission <br />have reviewed the application and found it to be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of <br />the Louisville Municipal Code, including Section 15.36.050 (A), establishing criteria for <br />landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the LouisvilleHistoric PreservationCommission hasheld a properly <br />noticedpublic hearing on the proposed landmark application andhas forwarded tothe City <br />Council a recommendation of approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the CityCouncil has duly considered the proposed landmark <br />application and the Commission's recommendation and report, and has held a properly <br />noticed public hearing on the application; and <br />WHEREAS, the building wasconstructed in 1906, andhas not been significantly <br />altered since that time; and <br />WHEREAS, thebuilding has social significance because of its association with <br />the Thomasfamily, whose members made significantcontributions to the development <br />of the City throughout the twentiethcentury; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council findsthat these and othercharacteristicsspecific to <br />the individual structure are of both architectural and social significance as described in <br />Section 15.36.050 (A) of the LouisvilleMunicipal Code and justify the approval of the <br />historic landmark application. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BYTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />1. The proposed historic landmarkapplication for the Thomas House is <br />herebyapproved and theindividual structure is hereby designated an <br />historic landmark to be preserved as such. <br />Resolution No. 57, Series 2011 <br />Page 1 of 2
