Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes
March 18 2013
Item VI. WGP Update
a. WGP is proceeding per the Maintenance Plan that was included as an
Addendum to the January Board Packet. Work will start April 8, weather
permitting.
b. In 2012, WGP put significant work into improving the bunkers including
$25K of additional sand. WGP will continue this work in 2013 but less
expenditure is budgeted for sand.
c. The maintenance manpower budget for irrigation is the same as for 2012
when significant improvements were made in drainage and, at least short
term, avoided the need for significant capital work. Irrigation and drainage
maintenance will continue at the same level in 2013 but results will be
highly dependent on the rainfall we see.
d. Due to the dry winter conditions, many greens are in poor shape. Aeration
will be carried out in April using a deep 12” solid tine process and the
greens should start seeing growth once the ground temperature reaches
42oF
e. The new, blue, golf carts are due in 30 days and will be on site as soon as
the Clubhouse renovation permits. As a stop-gap, 10 carts are being
rented to cover short-term issues with the current fleet.
f. WGP is working on new equipment for the Clubhouse including a Deli
case, televisions and furniture to replace the current furniture rented from
the City. WGP will also fund one concrete bench for placement on the golf
course.

Item VII. Other Issues
Joe Stevens will meet with the City Manager to discuss the impact of potential
drought restrictions. Potentially we could see a delay in starting watering with
potable water and an earlier stop to watering but there should be no shortage
affecting the recycled water used for irrigation during summer. Attention will be
paid to watering the newly planted trees and to the new sod used in fall for the
bunker renovation. Some of the new trees have died and will be replaced under
warranty in the Fall.

Item VIII. Potential Items for the April Meeting
Final review of bunker renovation design.
Update on Clubhouse progress
Set date for Clubhouse Grand Opening

Item IX. The next meeting is April 15 at 6:30PM. The meeting will be held in the
1st Floor meeting room at the Louisville Library.

Item X. Adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35PM Tom Deany proposed,
Perry Nelson seconded.

Like us on Facebook at Friends of Coal Creek Golf Course
