Louisville City Council Meeting <br />February 5, 2002 <br />Page 3 <br />Davidson stated the terms of Planning Commissioner's Christopher Leh and Patricia <br />Thompson ended and each had volunteered significant time and effort to Planning <br />Commission duties. Davidson presented Christopher Leh a plaque in recognition for his <br />service on the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Leh thanked Council for the opportunity to service on the Planning Commission. He <br />commended the Planning Commission for their hard work. Leh stated that Patricia <br />Thompson was not available to accept her plaque and conveyed her thanks for Council's <br />recognition. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION - CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT FOR EXCELLENCE <br />IN FINANCIAL REPORTING & DISTINQUISHED BUDGET PRESENTATION <br />AWARD <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported that the Government Finance Offices Association <br />of the United States and Canada has awarded the City of Louisville the Certificate of <br />Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual <br />Financial Report (CAFR). The CAFR has been judged to meet the high standards of the <br />program including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly <br />communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR. The <br />award is for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2000, and represents the 11th <br />consecutive year the City of Louisville has received the award. The award was given to <br />37 Colorado cities and towns out of 269, or 13.75 %. Nationally, this was awarded to <br />4.38% of all cities and towns. <br /> <br />Simmons stated that the City was also awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation <br />Award for the 2001 fiscal year. In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must <br />publish a budget document that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an <br />operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications device. This is the 12th <br />consecutive year that the City has received this award. This award was given to 20 <br />Colorado cities and towns, or 7.4%. Out of the 20 receiving the award, 19 also received <br />the CAFR award. Nationally, this was awarded to 1.57% of all cities and towns. <br /> <br />Finance Director Dianne Ray accepted the award on behalf of the Finance Department <br />Team: Accounting Manager Jodie Ferrera; Former Administrative Assistant Moniece <br />Schmidt; Accountants: Sue Robinson, Laura Gehle, Sabra Semo and former Accountant <br />Charlene Ponzio; Accounting Clerks: Terry Staffel, and Kelly Houser; and Records <br />Manager Rita Glova. <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson and the City Council recognized the Finance Department for excellence <br />in financial reporting and an outstanding budget presentation. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1374, SERIES 2001 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF TITLE 17 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL <br /> <br /> <br />
