The maps show user intensity and how the <br />routes are being used, based upon fitness data uploaded by Garmin users. <br /> <br />VII. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda <br /> None <br /> <br />VIII. Discussion: Public Process for New Trails Planning <br /> The 2008 Process: <br />o An Open House was held on April 3rd, 2008. The intent was to collect <br />public comment, trail ideas and recommendations. <br /> The Open House was advertised through the City’s website, <br />flyers, the City newsletter, and in OSAB Meeting Minutes. <br /> Ideas were collected by talking directly with Staff and OSAB <br />members, filling out the trail recommendations form, marking <br />their proposed trail ideas on the map, and emailing staff. <br /> Attendance wasn’t great – only 9 people attended. <br />o Staff compiled the information, brought the information to OSAB and <br />then OSAB voted on the trail priorities based on these suggestions. <br />o Following is the timeline for the Community Trails Open House from <br />April 3rd, 2008: <br /> <br />COMMUNITY TRAILS OPEN HOUSE <br /> <br />WHY: To identify new neighborhood trail links and to improve access and <br />connectivity to existing trail system <br /> <br />Project Background <br />● The City of Louisville Parks & Recreation Department has funding available for <br />the engineering and construction of new trails. <br />● The City of Louisville would like public input to help identify areas in need of <br />new trails or trail connections. <br />● Timeline: The process of identifying, prioritizing, engineering and constructing <br />new trails may be a multiyear project. <br /> <br />Step1: <br />Public input on trail locations –Open House <br /> <br />Step 2: <br />Staff review of public input, results presented to OSAB May 14th, public welcome. <br />Check website for changes in meeting times. <br /> <br />Step 3: <br />Trail engineering and construction- Date and location TBD <br />4
