City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />April 2, 2013 <br />Page 7 of 23 <br />station. Public Works Director Kowar felt the City could work towards a more attractive <br />solution than what is currently there. <br />Mayor Muckle inquired whether the Fire Protection District had looked into the fencing <br />used by Boulder County Open Space. Chief Parker stated they chose a fence <br />compliant with the IDDSG requirements. <br />Council member Jasiak inquired about the security for the 1,000 gallon fuel station. <br />Chief Parker stated it will be a fenced and locked facility and meets all the fire codes. <br />The fuel tank itself will be made of concrete and is very durable. <br />Council member Keany supported the fence, but felt the sign should be pulled back. <br />Council member Sackett supported the Louisville Fire Protection. District's request. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Dalton supported the proposal and the fence and sign variances. <br />Mayor Muckle supported the proposal and encouraged staff to work with the Fire District <br />to continue the fence design all the way to the City property. <br />City Attorney Light explained the resolution before Council has two conditions: 1) to <br />relocate the monument sign outside of the conservation easement and 2) relocate the <br />proposed fence and entryway gate outside the conservation easement. He asked that <br />Council's motion clarify whether the approval of Resolution No 19 is conditional or not. <br />MOTION: Council member Sackett moved to approve Resolution No. 19, Series 2013, <br />without condition, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Dalton. All in favor. <br />RESOLUTION No. 18, SERIES 2013 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE <br />2012 UPDATE OF THE 2009 CITYWIDE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN — Public Hearing <br />Mayor Muckle noted the City Council reviewed this matter at their April 2nd meeting and <br />continued the matter to this evening. He outlined the process for the public hearing. <br />Staff will make a presentation, Council will comment and then the public will have an <br />opportunity to comment. He noted the public hearing has been scheduled for the May <br />7, 2013 City Council agenda for final action. He opened the public hearing and <br />requested a staff presentation. <br />Planning Director Russ explained based on Council questions and the public comments <br />during the April 2, 2013 City Council meeting, staff made clarifications and modifications <br />to the Comprehensive Plan. He reviewed those modifications as follows: <br />TRANSPORTATION: Staff worked with the Denver Regional Council of Governments <br />(DRCOG) 2035 Transportation Model, which anticipates local and regional growth by <br />the year 2035.
