Louisville City Council Meeting March 19, 2002 Page 13 Mayer commented that Boulder County is in the process of aligning precincts to be consistent with the new districts boundaries. He asked that the City coordinate with the County Clerk so that the ward lines and the precinct lines agree. Simmons stated that the City and the County have different criteria. He asked City Clerk Varra for the County criteria on setting up precincts. City Clerk Nancy Varra stated that the Boulder County Election Manager contacted her relative redistricting precincts in Louisville. She stated that she was not aware of the criteria used by the County, but would inquire. Keany voiced concern over the April 23, 2002, study session date and informed Council that party caucuses would be conducted that day. He asked that the study session be postponed. There was a consensus that the Tuesday, April 23 study session would be rescheduled to Monday, April 22, 2002. Levihn stated that the City of Boulder has just passed a strong ordinance on weeds and suggested that a copy be obtained. He asked that other cities weed ordinances be reviewed. Brown requested that the Downtown Business Association be notified of the Highway 42 revitalization project meeting. Simmons stated that the study session for the Highway 42 revitalization project will be Council's opportunity to review the draft information. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Keany reported on the Youth Advisory Board. He stated that he and Recreation Center employee Mandy Balzarini, met with all but two Louisville school principals to discuss formation of a Youth Advisory Board. He stated that the response was positive. One principal commented that the School District has a policy prohibiting outside communication going home from the school or through school packet. He stated that permission must be granted from the School Board or District Administration to advertise the Youth Advisory Board throughout the school. Sisk reported that Dr. Garcia, Superintendent of the Boulder Valley Schools, has requested a dinner meeting between the School Board and the City Council. He also reported on a meeting of the Senior Board. He stated that the Board has expressed support of the expansion of the Recreation/Senior Center and want to be involved in the discussions. He reported that at the next Senior Board meeting, Boulder County Senior Coordinator Rosemary Williams will present a four-year plan for seniors and plans for the community. Williams wishes to invite Council to attend the next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. 13
