Louisville City Council Meeting <br />March 19, 2002 <br />Page 13 <br /> <br />Mayer commented that Boulder County is in the process of aligning precincts to be <br />consistent with the new districts boundaries. He asked that the City coordinate with the <br />County Clerk so that the ward lines and the precinct lines agree. <br /> <br />Simmons stated that the City and the County have different criteria. He asked City Clerk <br />Varra for the County criteria on setting up precincts. City Clerk Nancy Varra stated that <br />the Boulder County Election Manager contacted her relative redistricting precincts in <br />Louisville. She stated that she was not aware of the criteria used by the County, but <br />would inquire. <br /> <br />Keany voiced concern over the April 23, 2002, study session date and informed Council <br />that party caucuses would be conducted that day. He asked that the study session be <br />postponed. There was a consensus that the Tuesday, April 23 study session would be <br />rescheduled to Monday, April 22, 2002. <br /> <br />Levihn stated that the City of Boulder has just passed a strong ordinance on weeds and <br />suggested that a copy be obtained. He asked that other cities weed ordinances be <br />reviewed. <br /> <br />Brown requested that the Downtown Business Association be notified of the Highway 42 <br />revitalization project meeting. <br /> <br />Simmons stated that the study session for the Highway 42 revitalization project will be <br />Council's opportunity to review the draft information. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Keany reported on the Youth Advisory Board. He stated that he and Recreation Center <br />employee Mandy Balzarini, met with all but two Louisville school principals to discuss <br />formation of a Youth Advisory Board. He stated that the response was positive. One <br />principal commented that the School District has a policy prohibiting outside <br />communication going home from the school or through school packet. He stated that <br />permission must be granted from the School Board or District Administration to advertise <br />the Youth Advisory Board throughout the school. <br /> <br />Sisk reported that Dr. Garcia, Superintendent of the Boulder Valley Schools, has <br />requested a dinner meeting between the School Board and the City Council. He also <br />reported on a meeting of the Senior Board. He stated that the Board has expressed <br />support of the expansion of the Recreation/Senior Center and want to be involved in the <br />discussions. He reported that at the next Senior Board meeting, Boulder County Senior <br />Coordinator Rosemary Williams will present a four-year plan for seniors and plans for <br />the community. Williams wishes to invite Council to attend the next meeting scheduled <br />for Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br /> <br />
