He stated responsible hunters take great pride in taking part in hunting and <br />fishing. <br />David Hayes, 930 Arapahoe Circle, Louisville, CO voiced his support of the indoor <br />shooting range. <br />Jack Hoskinson, 1492 Adams Place, Louisville, CO stated he is a shooting instructor <br />and also teaches hunter safety. He voiced his support for the indoor shooting range. <br />Steven LeBlang, 443 Alpine, Boulder, CO, explained he is an investor in the proposed <br />shooting range and has 30 years experience in real estate. He outlined a demographic <br />report prepared by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc. (NSSF), for the <br />property located at 1776 Boxelder Street. He reviewed the long waiting list for <br />neighboring indoor shooting ranges. He cited the number of registered concealed <br />weapons permits for all the municipalities within Boulder County. <br />Rich Weingarten, 1133 Northridge Drive, Erie, CO stated he has searched many <br />months for an indoor shooting range site and felt Louisville would be a good fit. He <br />noted the constitution provides the right to bear arms. He proposed a community and <br />educational based business with a family focus. Classes will be offered for pistol and <br />rifle safety; self defense; home preparedness; home alarm systems and how to use <br />911. They propose tournaments and events to bring in boy scouts and 4 -H Clubs and <br />free public seminars and simulators for safe training. <br />Calvin Merrett, 413 Roosevelt, Louisville, CO stated Louisville is a family oriented <br />community and his family enjoys shooting together. He stated it keeps the family <br />together. He felt people will dine in Louisville after shooting at the range. <br />Richard Miller, 1230 Kennedy, Louisville, CO stated he has been shooting all his life. <br />He shoots in Lakewood, Englewood and Wheat Ridge and spends between $50 and <br />$60 dollars each time he shoots. He supported a shooting range. <br />Michael Menaker, 1827 W. Choke Cherry Drive, Louisville, CO stated he does not own <br />a firearm, but supports the code amendment. He shared the concerns expressed, but <br />felt a trained sport shooter is better than a non - trained sport shooter. He felt approving <br />the amendment will not increase the sale of firearms in Louisville. <br />Steve Prentup, 535 Orchard Drive, voiced his support for an indoor shooting range. He <br />felt it would provide a safe environment for gun owners to practice shooting. He stated <br />he would rather spend his money in Louisville than in other communities. <br />Tom Cole, 581 W. Hawthorne, Louisville, CO, knows local law enforcement officers who <br />travel outside the City for practice. He voiced his support of the indoor shooting range. <br />
