City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 18, 2013 <br />Page 5 of 12 <br />Economic Development Director DeJong updated Council of the economic development <br />in Louisville during the months of April and May. <br />ICSC Trip — The Mayor, City Manager and Economic Development Director DeJong <br />attended the ICSC Real Estate Conference in Las Vegas May 19 -21 and met with the <br />City's largest retailers and retail property owners including Lowe's, Home Depot, Sam's <br />Club, Tebo, King Soopers, Louisville Plaza, and Walgreens. They visited several <br />retailer booths to inquire about expansion plans in Colorado and our region in particular. <br />The City maintains good relationships with existing national retailers and has started to <br />make good relationships with new potential retailers. <br />Historic Grain Elevator — Negotiations continue on an agreement with the Olde Town <br />Group to outline the commitment from each party through the stabilization phase of the <br />project. There are many details to consider and it is taking longer than anticipated. <br />Negotiations continue on resolving the property boundary issues. <br />Highway 42 Revitalization — The LRC agreed to a Term Sheet on financing related to <br />new public infrastructure for the Core Area of the Highway 42 Revitalization Area. The <br />next step in this infrastructure assistance will be to prepare a Core Area Infrastructure <br />Agreement and the bond sale documents. <br />ARC Thrift Stores opening in Louisville Plaza: ARC will open June 27t" at the former <br />Big Lots location on South Boulder road. The ribbon cutting is June 27th at 8:30 am. <br />BAPS — New Business Assistance Packages approved over the last few months include <br />Benjamin West, Canaima Outdoors, Horizon Ag- Products, and Twelve Degree Brewing. <br />Site Visits — A few confidential companies have held site visits in the community. They <br />would provide significant job creation opportunities for the community. <br />Phillips 66 Property — No additional interest has been received by the City for the <br />property. CBRE continues to market the property for the Company. <br />DISCUSSION — FOOD TRUCK COMMUNITY PARK EVENT <br />Mayor Pro Tem Dalton requested a staff presentation. <br />Parks and Recreation Director Stevens explained two "Food Truck in the Park" events <br />have been held so far this year and each has drawn between 2,000 to 2,300 people to <br />Community Park. Council and the public were asked to share their perspectives on <br />the impact the Wednesday evening events have had on the neighborhoods, the <br />restaurants throughout Louisville and the community at large. Staff and the event <br />sponsor, Todd Stevenson, Project Louisville LLC, will use this information to help <br />
