Tonight was the first Tuesday evening “Buona Sera” Farmers Market and the first Street Faire of the season will be on Friday, June 14. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT City Manager Fleming reported in response to Mr. Grinbergs comments about status reports on the City’s ongoing projects, the City is in the process of hiring an IT Director, to evaluate and implement new technological solutions. Over 100 applications were received and five finalists will be interviewed the week of June 17. It is the City’s goal to provide information and status reports to the public. City Projects: The Washington/McCaslin Project, the City is waiting for bids, which will include alternatives of closing McCaslin or rerouting traffic during construction. The project will begin later on this summer. The Concrete Replacement Project is underway. Some concrete work was installed and later torn out because it did not meet the City’s standards. Food Trucks in the Park Event: The City received a request to add four additional trucks to the already approved eight trucks. Some merchants and the DBA have expressed their concern and the City received complaints from neighbors about the noise, trash and lack of parking associated with the event. The City Council will be asked to reevaluate the event at the June 18th meeting. The Boulder Valley School District has scheduled a meeting for 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 6, at their Education Center Aspen Room, to discuss their proposed changes in the bus schedule. These changes will eliminate several bus routes (Monarch High School, Monarch K-8, and Louisville Middle School) and could potentially impact 750 students. Students would have to drive or be taken to school, which would create more traffic congestion. He spoke with the Superintendent and advised him the City must evaluate the impact on traffic and requested more time to mitigate those impacts. Council member Loo inquired who the City’s representative is on the Boulder Valley School District. Mayor Muckle reported Jim Reed is the City’s representative.
