Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:37 pm by Claudia Chair. Mary Ann <br />served as Secretary for Ted who recently resigned. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: Members present (in bold): Cullen Choi, Mary Ann Heaney, Andy <br />Johnson, Claudia Lenz, Jim Bradford, Mark Persichetti; Staff Liaison Dave Szabados; <br />City-Council Liaison Emily Jasiack <br /> <br />III. Approval of Current-Meeting’s Agenda: The agenda was approved with no changes. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of May’s Meeting Minutes: The minutes were approved with no changes. <br /> <br />V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: <br />Lea Yancy was present representing the Boulder County Sustainability office. <br /> <br />Mark asked members if they thought LSAB should obtain a table for the Labor Day events in <br />the park. The board agreed unanimously that Mark should arrange for a table. <br /> <br />Emily provided an update on recent Council affairs <br /> <br />VI. Urban Chickens - (Mary Ann) <br />Mary Ann reported that Troy Russ reviewed the White Paper and added comments that <br />made the paper less pro chicken also to address code related issues. She is revising the <br />paper and will forward to Troy once again, and LSAB, next week. <br /> <br />She had also spoken with city staffs in Lakewood, Highlands Ranch, Stapleton, and Denver <br />to obtain their comments on urban hen issues in their towns. Those comments will be <br />added to the paper before forwarding to Troy. <br /> <br />Lynn provided information on Boulder County’s policies regarding farm animals. <br /> <br />VII. Update on Urban Gardens (Mary Ann) <br />Mary Ann and Claudia reported that they had attempted to determine exactly what the City <br />would need from a garden group using city lands; insurance, proof of non-profit status, 501- <br />C mandatory? Dave indicated he would try and obtain directions from staff. <br /> <br />Dave has been discussing the proposed garden with Parks and Rec staff. There may be <br />the option to use the plot of land across from the proposed site for the garden. <br /> <br />Andy showed two graphics he had drawn for the site.
