Open Space Advisory Board <br />Meeting Notes <br />July 10, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />o Keep it Clean Partnership (KICP) Creek Clean-up will be on Saturday, <br />July 27th from 8:30-11:30 am along the Coal Creek Trail. <br />o Nature Games program for the Summer Kids Camp at the Louisville <br />Recreation Center will take place on Thursday, August 1st. <br />o Gazing at the Stars Astronomy Program on Davidson Mesa Open Space <br />will occur on Tuesday, August 6th and Wednesday, August 7th from 9:00- <br />10:00pm. This program will be presented by the City of Boulder Open <br />Space and Mountain Parks. The program has been scheduled on two <br />days due to the potential for weather or clouds. <br /> The Davidson Mesa Trail Improvements Project will begin sometime in <br />late July, early August. <br /> Public Works expects construction to begin for the Bullhead Gulch <br />Underpass sometime next year. <br /> The Davidson Mesa Underpass Project bid opening is on July 22nd with <br />construction starting in late August. The utility work is already underway. <br /> The Hecla Lake improvements are 5-6 weeks behind schedule. <br /> The Hecla pipeline to Harney-Lastoka is complete. <br /> The Boulder County Youth Corp group has replaced prairie dog fencing on <br />Daughenbaugh Open Space and will be conducting weed control and <br />trash pick-up on selected Open Space properties within the coming week. <br /> Repair of the problematic “ice corner” on North Open Space is complete. <br /> <br />VI. Board Updates <br />a. Trails Open House Coordination <br /> OSAB has been discussing the process for gathering input from local <br />residents on their trail recommendations within the City. In previous <br />years, this topic was covered in an open meeting, at the Louisville <br />Recreation Center, and at Open Space Meetings. <br /> Spencer recommended that OSAB and Open Space staff hold an open <br />house at the Louisville Recreation Center and the Louisville Public Library <br />in September to gather input and provide information on trails planning <br />and ADA requirements. The dates of September 17th through the 19th <br />work for OSAB, the group prefers the 18th if available, and Catherine will <br />check on availability. <br /> Open Space staff will also be contacting other Boards’ within the City to <br />determine if OSAB can attend a September or October Board meeting for <br />a brief discussion of the Trail Recommendations Form and gather <br />members’ input.
