Roll call vote was taken. All in <br />favor. <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1386, SERIES 2002 - AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br /> REPEALING AND REENACTING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE <br /> LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PERMIT RATES AND CHARGES FOR <br /> WATER USAGE TO BE ESTABLISHED BY CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION - <br /> public hearing <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1386, Series 2002. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing and called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Tom Phare explained that historically, the City has set water rates <br />by ordinance, and normally this was suitable as water rate changes were implemented at <br />the beginning of the calendar year with plenty of lead-time. He noted that given the <br />current drought, it may be desirable to establish a procedure for setting water rates with a <br /> <br />minimal amount of lead-time. Ordinance No. 1386, Series 2002 provides for permitting <br />rates and charges for water usage to be established by resolution. He emphasized that <br />Ordinance No. 1386, Series 2002 is an emergency ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
