ORDINANCE NO. 1385, SERIES 2002 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5.08 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ALLOW LIQUOR LICENSEES TO PAY A FINE IN LIEU OF LIQUOR LICENSE SUSPENSIONS IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES - 1st reading - set public hearing 6/4/02 Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. City Attomey Light read Ordinance No. 1385, Series 2002. ORDINANCE NO. 1386, SERIES 2002 - AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE REPEALING AND REENACTING CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE TO PERMIT RATES AND CHARGES FOR WATER USAGE TO BE ESTABLISHED BY CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION - public hearing Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1386, Series 2002. Davidson opened the public hearing and called for Staff presentation. Public Works Director Tom Phare explained that historically, the City has set water rates by ordinance, and normally this was suitable as water rate changes were implemented at the beginning of the calendar year with plenty of lead-time. He noted that given the current drought, it may be desirable to establish a procedure for setting water rates with a minimal amount of lead-time. Ordinance No. 1386, Series 2002 provides for permitting rates and charges for water usage to be established by resolution. He emphasized that Ordinance No. 1386, Series 2002 is an emergency ordinance.
