<br /> <br />City of Louisville <br />City Council 749 Main Street Louisville CO 80027 <br />303.335.4533 (phone) 303.335.4550 (fax) www.LouisvilleCO.gov <br /> <br />City Council <br />Business Retention & <br />Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 5, 2013 <br />Library Meeting Room <br />951 Spruce Street <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER –The meeting was called to order at 8:00 AM in the 1st Floor Meeting room at <br />the Louisville Library, 951 Spruce Street, Louisville, Colorado <br /> <br />ROLL CALL – The following members were present: <br /> <br />Committee Members: Ron Sackett, City Council (Chair); Rob Lathrop, Revitalization <br />Commission(Vice-Chair); Hank Dalton, City Council; Michael Menaker, Alternate Revitalization <br />Commission; Emily Jasiak, City Council; Shelley Angell, Chamber of Commerce; Chris <br />Pritchard, Ronda Grassi, <br /> <br />Staff Present: Aaron DeJong, Economic Development Manager; Malcolm Fleming, City <br />Manager; and Dawn Burgess, Executive Assistant to the City Manager. <br /> <br />Others Present: Debbie Fahey, Mike Kranzdorf, David Sinkey, Scott Reichenberg <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Agenda approved as presented. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES – The minutes of the July, 2013 meeting were approved as <br />presented. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA: None <br /> <br />Business Assistance Program Discussion: <br /> <br />Aaron DeJong gave an overview of the Business Assistance Program (BAP). The BAP is to <br />encourage the recruitment, retention, establishment and/or expansion of sales tax generating <br />businesses within the City. As Aaron stated the permitted use of funds, City Manager Malcolm <br />Fleming added the real emphasis of a BAP award is job creation and sales tax creation. <br /> <br />There is a long list of criteria for approval but the major criteria are: <br />1. Job diversity <br />2. Diversity of retail <br />3. Use of existing buildings <br />4. Primary job growth
