Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 5, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A question was asked about the amount of new sales tax revenue created versus the incentive <br />amount paid through the program. Aaron clarified that new sales tax revenue, combined with <br />building permit fees and Construction Use Tax fees paid exceed the incentives paid. <br /> <br />RETENTION MEETINGS <br /> None held <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIEFING <br /> Sam’s Club has been relisted with SRS. <br /> Sale/purchase agreements of with Caranci are being reviewed and finalized. <br />o They will be presented to HPC on August 19th and go before Council on August <br />20th <br /> Louisville Plaza is for sale. Aaron remarked that this will most likely be an opportunity to <br />bring new life to the Plaza. Councilmember Dalton suggested it may be time to think <br />about a “Business Friendly” survey. <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> City Manager Fleming is working with Superior to ensure as they bring their Town <br />Center proposal forward they comply with the terms of the 1997 IGA. Collaborative <br />discussions are underway. <br /> An issue of non-payment of sales tax has arisen at a CTC business. Finance <br />Director Kevin Watson is in discussions with the business owner to resolve the <br />outstanding balance. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING <br /> Due to the Labor Day holiday, the next meeting will be held Monday, September 9th at <br />9:00 am <br /> Item for discussion: Patios <br /> <br />ADJOURN – The meeting adjourned at 8:57 am.
