City Manager Fleming explained in each case the rebate is based on an expansion to a business, which would bring in new revenue. The goal is long range and each application is taken on a case-by-case basis. He suggested a specific amount be allocated in the budget for business assistance. He noted if every business was offered assistance, the City could not fund the program. Council member Muckle askE;d i1f general fund money would then be used to rebate the fees. She explained the company currently occupies three builclings at CTC, and proposes to consolidate all in the new space. There was Council support for the Business Assistance Package and authorization for Staff to continue negotiations. RESOLUTION No. 47, SERIES 2007 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUSINESS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH EAT DRINK, LLC FOR THE OCCUPANCY OF EXISTINIG SPACE AT 816 SOUTH MAIN STREET IN THE DOWNTOWN ,AREA OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting, 52 Steele Street, Denver, CO presented the business assistance package; (BAP) for Eat Drink, LLC, owners of a new restaurant Table 816. This is a startup business desiring to establish an American bistro restaurant at the existing space at 816 Main Street. It is anticipated Table 816 will generate over $51,985 of new revenue to the City in the first three years. Staff recommended approval of the BAP, not to exceed three years from the certificate of occupancy, or $18,480 which ever comes first. Brendan McManus, Eat Drinlc, LLC, 908 Rex Street, Louisville, CO reported being in the restaurant business for over 20 years. He voiced his desire to open a new restaurant concept and is currently negotiating a lease with the current owners of the space, to creal:e a new American restaurant, which would seat 95 people and a bar and lounge area that would seat 15. It would employ approximately 35 people at move in and up to 50 full and part time in five years. COUNCIL COMMENT Council member Muckle inquired about the historic sign at that location. McManus stated the name on the sign would change, but the sign itself will not.
