City Council <br />Special Meeting Minutes <br />October 30, 2007 <br />Page 10 of 12 <br />City Attorney Light stated the contract between the City and the City Manager <br />states it shall be based on peirformance goals set in the fall of 2007 and <br />reevaluated in the fall of 2008. This list of goals is an endorsement from the City <br />Manager. Council can accepit the goals by motion. <br />Council member Sackett and Mayor Pro Tem Brown accepted the amendment. <br />City Manager Fleming noted the list of goals does not recognize the huge <br />amount of work other departments are performing on a daily basis. <br />VOTE: All in favor. <br />UPDATE/DISCUSSION/IDIRECTION - 2008 DILLON ROAD PROJECT <br />PRESENTATION <br />David Thompson, Civil EnginE;er II, presented the 2008 Dillon Road Project <br />through a PowerPoint and video presentation. <br />Drainage Improvement -Options: Open Channel and Closed Pipe. The Public <br />Works Department is recommending closed pipe. <br />Road way Improvements: Reconstruct existing roadway; Construct roadway <br />shoulders; Provide painted median; Improve clear zone; Install a traffic signal on <br />Dillon Road at Pierce Avenue and Reconstruct railroad crossing. <br />Right of Way: Public Works i:> recommending additional right-of-way be <br />purchased in order to prepare for the future four (4) lane arterial roadway. <br />Right-of-Way Properties Impacted: Boulder County Open Space; Northwest <br />Parkway; Hoyle Family Trust; J. Self; D. Keown; W. Hunt and P. Kilker. <br />Drainage Easement Property Impacts: Boulder County Open Space; Northwest <br />Parkway; James Schreiter arnd D. Keown <br />Other Project Impacts: MaturE; trees will be impacted. <br />Project Schedule and Cost: Advertise for Bids in April 2008; Award Project in <br />May 2008; Issue Notice to Proceed in June 2008; $3,629,000. <br />Next Steps: Purchase right-of-way; Work with BNSF on railroad crossing <br />improvements; Coordinate project with utility companies. <br />Public Works Director Phare addressed the RTD FasTracks train movements in <br />this area. He noted the timing of train arrivals at this intersection, would have to <br />be considered. He stated there is a single-lane alternative in both directions. <br />
