Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />July 15, 2013 <br />Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br />Stewart asked if there was a way to make this interactive with searchable databases. <br />Lingo stated the property listings are in Excel which is an interactive program. <br />Presentation – Reconnaissance Survey <br />Stewart introduced Phil Barlow, surveyor, who gave a PowerPoint presentation of his <br />findings. <br />Barlow stated a reconnaissance level survey is a much larger and more general than <br />survey’s such as the Jefferson Place Survey. There are approximately 550 structures in <br />this area. <br />Barlow’s presentation included the following details: <br /> The idea behind the survey is to establish a survey of the local architecture, age <br />of structures and determine what districts might exist <br /> The survey process used several volunteers for data collection <br /> All data collection as done electronically for easy upload <br /> The surveyor utilized GIS maps already created by the City of Louisville <br /> There is a potential for local district but not national districts due to the spacing of <br />eligible structures <br />Stewart asked what the final product will be. <br />Barlow stated the survey will include photos, data forms, maps and text. <br />Stewart asked if there could be any site specific maps created, based on architecture <br />and age. <br />Barlow stated this sort of application could easily happen through GIS. <br />Stewart asked staff if the final report will be on the website. <br />Robinson answered in the affirmative. <br />Discussion – Main Street Program <br />Robinson gave an update from the Main Street Program meeting which took place in <br />July. <br />Stewart stated he would like to see this program go to the next step. <br />Koertje stated it was a good presentation and thought there was a good turnout. <br />Discussion – Loans from the HPF <br />Robinson stated he is awaiting more details form the City Attorney.
