City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> September 3, 2013 <br /> Page 3 of 22 <br /> REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> CLINICA CAMPESINA GRANT RECIPIENT PRESENTATION <br /> Mayor Muckle explained the City bestows grants to non-profit organizations, which <br /> provide services to Louisville residents. Council has asked the recipients of City grants <br /> to present a brief overview of their program. Clinica Campesina is a City of Louisville <br /> 2013 Grant Recipient. <br /> Anthony Porcaro, Grant Writer for Clinica Campesina presented a brief overview of the <br /> non-profit and how the organization is using the grant funds. He thanked the Mayor and <br /> City Council for the grant. He explained twenty years ago Clinica Campensina was <br /> established to help citizens in Lafayette with health care services. Their mission has <br /> always been to take care of low income residents. They serve residents from Lafayette, <br /> Federal Heights, Thornton, Louisville and Boulder by providing health care services and <br /> counseling. They see approximately 800 Louisville residents per year, who are below <br /> the poverty level. <br /> Council member Loo asked Mr. Porcara if Obama Care will affect the health care <br /> provided by Clinica Campensina. Mr. Porcara stated many of those who receive health <br /> care services from Clinica Campensina will receive medicare under Obama Care, <br /> however it will not cover all the expenses of health care and services for those below <br /> the poverty level. <br /> TRU CARE HOSPICE GRANT RECIPIENT PRESENTATION <br /> TRU Care Hospice is a City of Louisville 2013 Grant Recipient. Darla Schueth, <br /> President of TRU Care Hospice, presented a brief overview of the non-profit and how <br /> the organization is using the grant funds. She thanked the Mayor and City Council for <br /> the grant and explained TRU Care Hospice was founded as Boulder County Hospice in <br /> 1996. They serve Boulder and Adams Counties. Thus far in 2013 they have served <br /> 122 Louisville residents. Their primary office is located in Lafayette. Their dedicated <br /> ten bed patient unit is located at the Balfour Senior Living Unit and is the only one in <br /> Boulder County. She introduced Annette Mainland. <br /> Annette Mainland, Vice President of Philanthropy, shared a story from a family member <br /> of a hospice patient. The letter described the lovely care her mother received from a <br /> hospice nurse and a CNA. She praised the exceptionally kind and lovely care given to <br /> those who are at the end of their lives. <br /> RESOLUTION No. 46, SERIES 2013 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUSINESS <br /> ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH TRELLEBORG SEALING SOLUTIONS US, INC. <br />
