Louisville City Council Meeting <br />June 18, 2002 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Louisville senior citizens will be assisted in setting their sprinkling systems to comply <br />with the watering restriction. He congratulated Staff for their initiative in undertaking the <br />program. <br /> <br />Levihn addressed the tennis court issue and stated his understanding that the in-line <br />skating rink was moved closer to the outdoor swimming pool. <br /> <br />Mayer commented that the original Dash bus service proposal was to run buses every ten <br />minutes continuously all day. He stated that he voiced his opinion that such service was <br />unwarranted. He concurred with Council member Sisk, that if the service is not <br />warranted, it should not continue, however, there should be an evaluation period. <br /> <br />Olson commented that he was not aware that there was a schedule of increase and <br />decrease of the Dash service throughout the day. He suggested that the schedule be <br />advertised to alleviate public concern. <br /> <br />Sisk commented on the success the Friday night downtown Street Fare, and encouraged <br />citizens to attend. He noted that the restaurants are busy and that the Street Fare has <br />brought people to the downtown area. <br /> <br />Keany concurred with Council member Sisk that the Street Fare has been very well <br />received. He stated that breaking down the Street Fare at the end of the evening is labor <br />intense and he encouraged Council members and citizen volunteers to assist in that task. <br /> <br />STAFF INTRODUCTIONS/PROMOTIONS <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons introduced two new Staff members and announced a Staff <br />promotion. Julie Boyd is the new Deputy City Manager. Her previous employment was <br />with the Town of Dillon, Colorado, as the Town Manger and prior to that position; she <br />served as the City Clerk. Julie began her duties on June 10th. Cindy Lair is the new <br />Director of Land Management. Her previous employment was with Boulder County, and <br />included open space management. Cindy's duties began on June 17th. Keith Williams <br />was promoted to the Director of Recreation & Senior Services. Williams served for nine <br />months as the Interim Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Louisville. Keith's <br />new duties began June 17th.
