City Council Meeting Minutes October 1, 2013 Page 14 of 15 City Manager is Requesting the City Council Convene an Executive Session for the Purpose of Consideration of Potential Real Property Acquisition and Disposition — Parcels of Real Property in Louisville REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS SUSPENDED City Attorney Light explained the City Manager is requesting the City Council convene an executive Session for the purpose of consideration of real property acquisitions and dispositions regarding real property in the City of Louisville, but only as to appraisals and other value estimates and strategy. City Clerk Varra read Section 2.90.050 public statement from the Louisville Municipal Code, which governs the topics discussed in an executive session. City Attorney Light stated the authority for conducting an executive session is the Louisville Charter, Section 5 -2(c) - Authorized Topics — Consideration of real property acquisitions and dispositions, only as to appraisals and other value estimates and C.R.S. 24- 6- 402(4)(a) under the Colorado Open Meetings Law. The City Manager is requesting an executive session for the purpose of consideration of potential acquisition of real property located in Louisville. MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved the City Council convene an executive session for the consideration of real property acquisitions of property located in the City, but only as to appraisals and other value estimates and discussions of strategies of such acquisition and the executive session include the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Planning Director, and City Attorney, seconded by Council member Keany. All were in favor. The Council adjourned to executive session at 10:37 p.m. and reconvened the regular meeting at 11:05 p.m. REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS CONTINUED CITY ATTORNEY REPORT — REAL PROPERTY ACQUISITIONS AND DISPOSITIONS City Attorney Light reported in executive session the City Council considered strategies for real property acquisitions and dispositions, but only as to appraisals and other value estimates and strategies for negotiations. Staff was given Council direction and will proceed with negotiation strategies. He noted if negotiations are successful, a contract for purchase of property would be brought back before Council for consideration in an open meeting. City Attorney Light reported neither Council member Sackett nor Deputy City Manager Balser attended the executive session.
