Business Retention & Development Committee
Meeting Minutes
October 7, 2013

COMMENTS
Commissioner Menaker presented an article that was published in Salon.com about
entertainment districts and open container laws. Chris Pritchard said that type of district
has been discussed by the DBA. Further discussion ensued regarding Street Faire,
local restaurants and the impact a larger entertainment district would have on
downtown.

Councilmember Dalton suggested that perhaps Staff could look, informally, at the
logistics of creating an entertainment district and that it be considered as on option
moving forward.

Dave Sinkey commented that Street Faire is a great thing for the City. He said it is a
differentiator and makes people and businesses want to be here.

DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING

ADJOURN The meeting adjourned at 9:25 am.
