City Council <br /> Study Session Summary <br /> August 27,2013 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> Mayor Muckle said the LLA does a great job. <br /> The LLA thanks Jay Lanphere for his work as Police Department Liaison to the <br /> LLA. <br /> Ralphies: transfer and warned about violations in the past. They will get a fresh <br /> start but aware of past items. <br /> City Council and LLA Members discussed Special Events permits over the <br /> summer and patios. <br /> Update/Discussion —Golf Course Advisory Board <br /> Chair Ken Gambon reported on the highlights and low lights at the course this <br /> year: <br /> • Clubhouse went through a $321,000 renovation; $250,000 from the City <br /> and $71,000 from Western Golf Properties. <br /> • A new pump greatly improved water pressure. Chris Lichty and Parks and <br /> Recreation Director Joe Stevens facilitated the removal of trees. Chris will <br /> continue to monitor trees. <br /> • Chair Gambon thanked Council for the approval to renovate bunkers on <br /> holes 2 -5. <br /> • Golf carts had GPS installed which has helped course conditions (golf <br /> carts shut down in off-limits areas) by protecting property. <br /> • Western Golf Properties (WGP) held a successful Friday night family <br /> night. <br /> • There were a lot of emails about the condition of the course this year. <br /> • Complaints about insufficient amount of drinking water. <br /> • Complaints about not allowing carts in the parking lot. <br /> • Money for clubhouse improvements was diverted from course <br /> improvements. <br /> • There were many irrigation issues, high mortality rate in the new trees <br /> planted, they will be replaced under warranty. <br /> • Water on the course was discussed and Chair Gambon said the City <br /> needs to find a better solution as it is possibly a liability issue. Eric Jensen <br /> with WGP later reported that there is refrigerated water at various holes <br />
