City Council <br /> Study Session Summary <br /> August 27,2013 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> along the Course and that the Ranger and the beverage cart are driving <br /> around passing out free bottles of water. <br /> • Eric Jensen with WGP shared more about irrigation issues and passed <br /> around pipes showing how water is leaking. He stated that we are at the <br /> end of the life cycle for the irrigation system. A great number of gallons of <br /> water are being wasted due to leaks. <br /> The major challenges are: <br /> • Bunker renovation <br /> • Irrigation system <br /> • Impacts to the course conditions with maintenance being preformed <br /> Board member Sandy Stewart reported on the Improvement Plan moving <br /> forward: <br /> • A"Get well Plan" would address critical structural issues and golfer <br /> dissatisfaction: bunkers, clubhouse renovation, drainage, tree <br /> replacement, irrigation system for roughly $2.4 million <br /> • An "Enhancement Plan" would address tee renovation, cart path <br /> enhancement, on-course restroom facilities, turf enhancement, driving <br /> range and pond liner replacement for roughly $5.6 million. <br /> Eric Jensen with WGP said that maintenance plans are dependent on weather, <br /> soil temperatures. <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Stevens said the GCAB toured other courses and <br /> it was a very difficult year for a number of courses in the area. He spoke with a <br /> Golf Course bunker expert who said our issues were not unique to Coal Creek. <br /> GCAB supports use of the Course by all citizens and in a variety of ways (i.e: <br /> walking on cart path in the winter, snowshoeing). <br /> Board member Lisa Norgard reminded everyone that the Divots and Dining is <br /> September 13. <br /> Chair Gambon thanked Council for this wonderful City asset that provides <br /> $180,000 in revenue to the City and $1.9 Million in revenue to WGP. <br /> Chair Gambon thanked Sandy Stewart for his help and thanked Eric Jensen with <br /> WGP for all his work on the course issues this year. Malcolm thanked the GCAB <br /> and Chair Gambon for identifying issues. <br /> Update/Discussion — Noise Abatement <br />
