Louisville City Council Meeting <br />August 20, 2002 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Davidson called for a recess at 8:30 p.m., and reconvened the meeting at 8:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Council member Levihn returned to the meeting. <br /> <br />RECONSIDERATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 1395, SERIES 2002 - AN <br />ORDINANCE SUBMITTING TO THE REGISTERED ELECTORS AT THE <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2002, SPECIAL ELECTION A BALLOT ISSUE CONCERNING <br />CONTINUATION OF THE CITY SALES AND USE TAX FOR OPEN SPACE <br />ACQUISITION, DEVELOPMENT, MAINTENANCE AND RELATED <br />PURPOSES <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd explained the ordinance was approved setting ballot <br />title language for the continuation of the open space sales and use, however, the phrase <br />"and for all other lawful municipal purposes" was added to the end of the description of <br />what the revenues can be used for. This language does not reflect Council's intent, which <br />is to use the revenues collected from the tax to fund the acquisition of open space land, <br />and to allow use of some of the funds for the construction, development and maintenance <br />of projected located on open space land and parks. Notice was published on August 16 <br />stating the ordinance would be reconsidered by the City Council with the specific change. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing and asked if anyone in the audience wished to speak <br />for or against Ordinance No. 1395, Series 2002. Hearing none, Davidson closed the <br />public heating. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light noted that the ballot title had one word missing. He requested that <br />the word "and" be inserted, on line 10, after FUTURE PARKS. He asked that the motion <br />include the correction of the ballot title. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayer moved that Council reconsider Ordinance No. 1395, Series 2002, as <br />amended, seconded by Brown. Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of <br />6-0. Keany absent. <br /> <br />AVISTA ADVENTIST HOSPITAL <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Sisk recused himself from the discussions and voting of all the Avista Hospital agenda <br />items. He explained that his wife is a member of the Avista Hospital Board of Directors. <br /> <br />Davidson asked that the record reflect that Council member Sisk was excused from the <br />discussions and voting on the Avista Hospital matters. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br /> <br />
