10-2- review its sUbdivision and planned unit development regulations and make necessary revisions to ensure that land use development proceeds in a planned and orderly fashion; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that the following amendments to the City's SUbdivision ordinances promote the health, safety, and welfare of the present and future citizens of Louisville, and will help ensure that future land use development proceeds in a planned and orderly fashion. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: Section 1. Louisville Municipal Code Section 16.04.020, entitled "Purpose", is repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read: 16.04.020 Purposes. The regulations in this title are designed and enacted in accordance with the authority granted to the city including, but not limited to, subdivision authority granted in C.R.S., part 2 of article 23 of title 31 and the land use authority granted in C.R.S., part 1 of article 20 of title 29, the "Local Government Land use Control Enabling Act of 1974", for the following purposes: A. To promote the health, safety, convenience, order, prosperity and welfare of the present and future inhabitants of the city; B. To provide for the proper arrangement of streets in relation to existing or planned streets and to the Comprehensive Plan; C. To provide for adequate and convenient open spaces for motor vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic, utilities, access of firefighting apparatus, civil defense, recreation, and sites for schools, educational facilities, and related structures; D. To promote orderly growth and to provide for the harmonious development of the city in accordance with its comprehensive plan; E. To provide for adequate light, air and privacy and to secure safety from fire, flood and other danger; 2
