Louisville City Council Meeting <br />October 1, 2002 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />Davidson noted that the Open Space Advisory Board would forward recommendations <br />and plans for the revenue. <br /> <br />Keany asked if the original open space tax was only earmarked for land acquisition. <br />Davidson confirmed that the original open space tax was only for land acquisition. <br /> <br />MOTION: Sisk moved that Resolution No. 38, Series 2002, be adopted, seconded by <br />Keany. All in favor. Mayer absent. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1401, SERIES 2002 - AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION AS REQUIRED BY THE HOME <br />RULE CHARTER, TO SERVE AS AN ADVISORY COMMISSION TO THE <br />CITY COUNCIL - 1St reading - set public hearing 10/15/02 <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1401, Series 2002. <br /> <br />MOTION: Sisk moved that Ordinance No. 1401, Series 2002 be sent out for publication <br />and a public hearing be set for October 15, 2002, seconded by Levihn. All in favor. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons requested Director of Recreation/Senior Services Keith <br />Williams to make a brief presentation and update Council on the grading of the City's <br />property located at the comer of McCaslin and Via Appia. <br /> <br />Williams reviewed the Louisville Police & Recreation Master Plan and presented Council <br />with a map illustrating the multiple uses of the site, which include the police facility, <br />outdoor swimming poor, skate-park, in-line hockey rink, and tennis courts. He reviewed <br />the site plan and its amenities. The following are options for an in-line hockey rink: <br /> <br />Option Phase I-Inline Hockey Rink includes, design work, construction cost, <br />preparation and earthwork, post-tension concrete, rock retaining wall, walkways, <br />dasher boards and construction management fee at a cost of $271,858.92. <br /> <br />Option Phase II - Parking Lot includes construction cost, concrete connection <br />walkway earthwork and grading, curb/gutters and road base parking lot, and <br />construction management fee at a cost of $126,491.96 <br /> <br /> <br />
