If those issues are not approved, the tax would be implemented, and revenues <br />would be used for additional programming at those facilities. She stressed that Council <br />could suggest other uses for the revenue. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Brown suggested adding trails and outdoor educational programs and police and court <br />facilities. <br /> <br />Sisk concurred with Council member Brown and suggested that the use could be <br />expanded to gateways to the City, and other projects, and requested additional language <br />to expand the provisions. <br /> <br />Davidson stated that if the language would be expanded to reflect amenities to the City. <br /> <br />Brown asked for bulleted points to address additional uses for the revenue. <br /> <br />Davidson requested that Resolution No. 37, Series 2002 be tabled. He asked Council to <br />submit their suggestions to City Staff and a revised Resolution be reviewed at the next <br />regular meeting. There was Council consensus. <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that Resolution No. 37, Series 2002, be tabled until the <br />October 15, 2002 City Council meeting, seconded by Brown. All in favor. Mayer absent. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 38, SERIES 2002 - A RESOLUTION OF INTENT OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LOUSVILLE, COLORADO REGARDING <br />THE CONTINUED USE OF ADDITIONAL SALES TAX AND USE TAX <br />REVENUES SHOULD BALLOT ISSUE 2D BE APPROVED AT THE <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2002 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd reported Louisville voters will consider a ballot issue <br />on November 5, 2002 at a special municipal election that would authorize the City to <br />continue collecting a sales and use tax of .375 percent to be used for open space and park <br />purchases. Resolution No. 38, Series 2002 would set City Council policy permitting up <br />to 25% of the revenues collected from this tax to be used for construction, development <br />and maintenance of those properties purchased by the City. She stated that 1.5 Million <br />dollars is anticipated annually, therefore, $375,000 would be available for other purposes. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> <br />Brown addressed the issue of maintenance and stated that would also include signage, <br />trail dedication programs and restoration of existing areas. <br /> <br /> <br />
