RESOLUTION NO. 08 <br />SERIES 2013 <br />A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING THE <br />LANDMARK DESIGNATION APPLICATION FOR A HISTORICAL COMMERCIAL <br />STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 740 FRONT STREET <br />WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the Louisville Historic Preservation <br />Commission (HPC) an application requesting a landmark eligibility determination for a <br />historical commercial structure located at 740 Front Street, on property legally described as <br />Lot 1, Block B, Louisville, Town of Louisville, City of Louisville, State of Colorado; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff and the HPC have reviewed the application and found it <br />to be in compliance with Chapter 15.36 of the Louisville Municipal Code, including Section <br />15.36.050.A, establishing criteria for landmark designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC has held a properly noticed public hearing on the proposed <br />landmark application; and <br />WHEREAS, 740 Front Street (Di Francia Saloon) has social significance because it <br />exemplifies the cultural, political, economic or social heritage of the community considering <br />its association with the Di Francia family, Italian immigrants in Louisville, and multiple <br />prominent businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, the Di Francia Saloon has architectural significance because it <br />represents the commercial style of the early 20th century; and <br />WHEREAS, the Di Francia Saloon is a distinctive building that is culturally significant <br />in downtown Louisville; and <br />WHEREAS, the HPC finds that these and other characteristics specific to the Di <br />Francia Saloon have social and architectural significance as described in Section <br />15.36.050.A of the Louisville Municipal Code; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />The application to landmark the Di Franica Saloon be approved for the following <br />reasons: <br />Attest: <br />1. The structure has retained the form of its important commercial style; and <br />2. The structure was associated with several businesses and the Italian <br />immigrant community throughout the years in Louisville; and <br />3.
