Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Nlinutes <br />November 19, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 11 <br />Stewart asked if the tapes would be made available for La Grave. <br />Robinson stated the tapes could be made available and La Grave could make any <br />corrections necessary. <br />La Grave made a motion to continue the adoption of the October 21 st meeting minutes <br />until the tapes have been reviewed. <br />Koertje seconded the motion. <br />Motion was approved by voice vote. <br />Public Comment — <br />Jean Morgan stated she was surprised and discouraged the demolition by neglect item <br />was not placed on this month's agenda. <br />Stewart stated there was an oversight on this month's agenda and it was not vetted <br />through the chairperson and vice chairperson. He asked staff if there were any updates <br />on the cabins. <br />Robinson stated there is no new information. <br />Morgan stated she would like to see something happen with them before they are <br />destroyed. <br />Pre - filing Conference - none <br />Public Hearing - none <br />Presentation — Jane Crissler, Austin Niehoff HSA <br />Robinson introduced the item, giving background on the project. <br />Jane Crissler, architect for Humphries Poli, presented the HAS for which she was project <br />manager. The HSA includes the following steps: <br />• Research on the history of the building <br />• Documenting the research <br />• Photographic documentation <br />• Assessment of its conditions <br />• Follows state mandated format <br />• State historical fund, which is providing partial funding, gets a say in this assessment <br />Crissler then gave a summary of the findings: <br />• Austin Niehoff was originally constructed as a dugout <br />• In 1880 a two story structure was constructed on this site <br />
