Architecture
The proposed addition would be compatible but subordinate to the existing structure.
The addition would be shorter in height, tucking under the eave of the existing building.
It would have wood or cementitious siding that would match the appearance of the
existing building. The flat roof would differentiate the addition from the existing building
and would fit in with the architectural vernacular of Downtown Louisville. Much of the
front facade would be windows, would provide function for the intended use and comply
with the Design Handbook.
4. -d sq. i#a&r\ 41limNfrei> •----
103r11F4461 4KIN L.10 4
444 1 AO 1,4
%PM Ol'Or mai 44
Mak
cd,"-
"Mt WM, aaart, wri 45501 i Yule
f•MVVt, hII
fuse, J ' tite4
rail% 'miter.
,TAirle"k i ° l,l rr _____
_.i 1M. , rI4. •a
IIAIIfiIIIii
It
PIES
tR tr iLg iCIAKbr4
rft ai
Mt
ceNittsfri■ 1-111
Apa6 diS C#y411411L7 14Y4 31}0 rigf
r‘11/1C,..5. fr M?-p eseier_ 01.54,
comes
—WOW WC t#sAEII"x +y' ma* f'Krlyl
we* wrap }`LS [ ...,.:Ffi 'a+;4 ar4 'If-' i1 F I*T,. The
proposal would enlarge the front windows to match their original size. It would also
replace the existing front door and add transom lights above it, again mimicking the
original design of the building. The proposed PUD includes minor repairs to other
existing features on the original building. The Historic Preservation Commission has
reviewed the proposal for historic and architectural compatibility and supports the
addition and modifications to the original structure.
