Golf Course Advisory Board Minutes
November 18 2013
removed until approval was received from FEMA. The Board also requested
that the City take over the Coal Creek Golf web domain currently managed by
WGP as soon as possible so there is a channel to communicate updates to
the public. Until that is agreed, the Facebook “Friends of Coal Creek” page
may suffice.
Key dates for the golf course reconstruction are as follows: Dec 3 Present
plan to City Council for endorsement of pre-construction work with
Landscapes Unlimited. Dec 17 present final plan to city Council that includes
the updated Not to Exceed Design/Build Agreement and a detailed timeline
for the work. Staff will present the required funding along with available
funding sources. Board members expressed interest in attending these
meetings in support of the Staff proposal.
The Board unanimously approved a Motion that welcomes and approves the
plan presented by City Staff.Proposed: Sandy Stewart, Seconded Perry
Nelson
Dennis Maloney shared a survey he conducted for Coal Creek Ranch HOA
on flood damage. This documents homes damaged by the flood (on holes 3
8, 10, 11 14 and 15) plus homes that also suffer recurrent damage through
run-off (holes 3 and 15.) Mitigation of these problems should be taken into
consideration as part of the course renovation and may require input from the
Army Corps of Engineers.
It was noted that interviews for GCAB positions will be held on December 9
and 10. Ken Gambon and Perry Nelson are eligible for re-appointment and a
vacant seat exists following the earlier resignation of Cary Tengler.
Public comments: John Reilly noted that a practice green designed and
constructed by Landscapes Unlimited was in use at Colorado National Golf
Club and was one of the best he had seen. He also reminded the Board and
City Staff of the ongoing concern of Summit Club members on getting
reimbursement for the 2013/2014 dues.
VII Next Meetings As in previous years, no Board meeting is planned for
December. The next meetings will be on January 13 and February 10 in order to
avoid the Martin Luther King and Presidents Day holidays. The venue will be the
st
Golf Clubhouse or the Louisville Public Library, 1 Floor Meeting Room
depending on availability.
Item VII Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm. Motion to Adjourn proposed by Dennis
Maloney, seconded by Lisa Norgard.
Like us on Facebook at Friends of Coal Creek Golf Course
6
