Absent: Council member Lipton. <br /> ORDINANCE No. 1655, SERIES 2014 — AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY <br /> REFERENCE THE 2013 EDITIONS OF NFPA 501A: STANDARD FOR FIRE SAFETY <br /> CRITERIA FOR MANUFACTURED HOME INSTALLATIONS, SITES AND <br /> COMMUNITIES AND NFPA 225: MODEL MANUFACTURED HOME INSTALLATION <br /> STANDARD AND REPEALING AND REENACTING, WITH AMENDMENTS, <br /> CHAPTER 15.20 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING <br /> STANDARDS FOR MOBILE HOMES AND CHAPTER 15.24 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING STANDARDS FOR MOBILE HOME PARKS —2nd <br /> Reading — Public Hearing <br /> Mayor Muckle requested a City Attorney introduction. <br /> City Attorney Light introduced Ordinance No. 1655, Series 2014 and noted there are <br /> second reading amendments. <br /> Mayor Muckle opened the public hearing and requested a staff presentation. <br /> Chief Building Official Swanson stated Mayor Pro Tern Dalton requested the mobile <br /> homeowners be given notice of the change in the mobile home standards and the <br /> amendment to Chapter 15.24 of the Louisville Municipal Code. He reported there were <br /> 97 hand delivered notices to mobile home residents. <br /> Chief Building Official Swanson explained the City of Louisville's current manufactured <br /> home regulations were adopted by ordinance in 1977. The standards in the ordinance <br /> reference building and constructions standards from the 1973 Edition of the Standard <br /> for Mobile Homes. Ordinance No. 1655, Series 2014 would revise the City's Standards <br /> for Manufactured Homes and Mobile Home Parks in the Louisville Municipal Codes <br /> Chapter 15.20 and Chapter 15.24 respectively. Staff has reviewed the current ordinance <br /> and wishes to provide a number of changes and updates to reflect current best <br /> practices and ensure basic life / safety needs are enforced with the City's current and <br /> future manufactured homes. Staff recommended the City Council approve Ordinance <br /> No. 1655, Series 2014 on second and final reading. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> Council member Keany requested clarification on the revisions included in the <br /> ordinance to the Standards for Manufactured Homes and Mobile Home Parks. Chief <br /> Building Official Swanson explained the revision removed the redundant sections. <br /> Mayor Muckle requested public comment and hearing none, closed the public hearing. <br />
