!IP <br /> I <br /> ILOUISVILLE ARTS AND HUMANITIES COUNCIL <br /> SEPTEMBER 21, 1989 <br /> ' Council members present at meeting: Carolyn Markham, Jennifer <br /> Forrey, Mary O'Brien, John Hansen and Nancy Westergaard. Guests <br /> 1 present: County Commissioner Homer Page, Marcy Page and Joanne <br /> Lyman. Requesting sponsorship by the council for grant funding <br /> from the county commissioners : Louisville Art Association, <br /> represented by Vicky Hendricks . <br /> ' Carolyn opened the meeting, introduced the guests and read the <br /> minutes from the last meeting. <br /> ' COUNCIL BUSINESS AND RESOLUTIONS: <br /> ' No treasurers report was given as there are no funds . <br /> Current Council projects are as follows : <br /> w <br /> - Louisville Art Association is requesting that the Council <br /> ' sponsor them in their application for $3000 .00 in grant <br /> funds from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District <br /> (SCFD) to assist in promoting the 3 day annual art show <br /> ' during the 1990 Louisville Arts Festival . They propose to <br /> use the grant for advertising to attract exhibitors as well <br /> as art patrons and for prize money for the exhibiting <br /> artists . Council voted unanimously to sponsor the <br /> ' Louisville Art Association in their grant application. They <br /> will complete their application and submit it. <br /> ' - The Council will be completing a grant application to the <br /> SCFD for assistance in our own projects. We will be <br /> applying for start up funds to join such organizations as <br /> the Colorado Consortium of Community Arts Councils and the <br /> Colorado Council on the Arts and Humanities . The funds will <br /> also go towards distribution of the Louisville citizen <br /> survey the council has put together. John and Nancy will <br /> ' complete the application for the funding. <br /> It will be suggested to the library board that a grant be applied <br /> ' for to the SCFD on their behalf to hold an open competition for <br /> artists wishing to create works of art for the new library <br /> building. <br /> The library board has been receptive to suggestions about holding <br /> cultural events in their new building. In return, they would <br /> like Council support in their bid to move the elevator in the new <br /> ' building to make it more accessible . They would like the Council <br /> to write a letter showing our support. It was voted on and <br />
