F <br /> LOUISVILLE ARTS AND HUMANITIES COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> IOCTOBER 19, 1989 <br /> Present at meeting: John Hansen, Mary O'Brien, Nancy Westergaard. <br /> Guests: Debbie Bruhm and Connie Gabel . <br /> John Hansen opened the meeting. Minutes from the last meeting <br /> were read and approved with one minor change in . semantics. <br /> ICOUNCIL BUSINESS AND RESOLUTIONS: <br /> John suggests council members save receipts for council expenses , <br /> I to be reimbursed when funds are available. i.e. , copies, <br /> gasoline, etc. <br /> IDebbie Bruhm conveyed to us that the city has authori ed $250.00 <br /> to mail our citi en survey. <br /> Carolyn and Mary attended the last meeting. The <br /> I board has decided they do not have extra space to allow for <br /> performance space in the new library building. <br /> I John brought the new rec center plans to the council meeting. <br /> John has talked to the city about allowing the council to oversee <br /> the art installation project at the rec center. The city has <br /> b said that no funds were budgeted for this art installation. They <br /> are taking into consideration our proposal to allocate funds for <br /> art installation and special lighting. 'We have proposed that <br /> $4000. 00 be budgeted for the art installation at the rec center. <br /> ' Carolyn and John met with Steve Basinger on October 9 and <br /> discussed the goals of the council with him. They also met with <br /> I the architect of the rec center and discussed some additions such <br /> as gallery moulding and special lighting. <br /> II The Art Association was given permission to use the Main Street <br /> Center for their holiday show. <br /> II On October 23 presentations will be made to the citizen's <br /> advisory board on grant applications. These will be heard at the <br /> Boulder County Courthouse at 7: 00. <br /> I The council is sponsoring 5 grant applications to the SCFD. Our <br /> own is requesting $700 .00 for start up funds; Louisville Art <br /> Association is requesting $3000.00; Centaurus Art Club is <br /> I requesting $725 .00; Artists Educational Alliance is requesting <br /> $2000 . 00; Friends of the Library is requesting $5000.00. <br /> Connie Gabel from the Friends of the Library is requesting that a <br /> II letter from the council be written explaining that we are <br /> sponsoring their grant application.
