1
ID
Icitizens advisory board requested that this be done. The
application was reviewed and it was voted unanimously to sponsor
it. Nancy Westergaard will write the letter they are
requesting. The council discussed strategies for Connie 's
presentation.
IAll presenters of grant applications sponsored by the Louisville
Arts and Humanities Council are meeting at the Main Street Center
on October 22 to rehearse their presentations.
IChanges were made to our citizen survey. We will be requesting
information on citizens trained in the arts but not) working in
their field (amateurs) as well as professionals. The amounts of
I the various memberships to the council was increased to allow us
to send members incentives such as tickets to events. A $10.00
membership category was also added.
11 It was voted on unanimously that we will mail our citizen surv'
in , the city water bills. The city has agreed to sort them out of
IIthe water bills for us.
There is no report on our 501c3 status.
lbJohn reported that a total of 66 grant applications were
submitted to the SCFD.
I John spoke to the assistant city administrator of Lafayette. They
have no arts council and he told they may apply thro h r
council .
John also spoke with Cheryl Wagner of CCAH and'proposed that we
invite her to speak at the next council meeting. This proposal
was voted on and agreed to unanimously. John will loan the
I council $60. 00 to join the CCAH so we may have her speak at our
next meeting.
IITOPICS FOR CONSIDERATION :
The exact process for choosing artists to decorate the new rec
center was explained by John. A decision needs to be made on the
II best use of the space available for art.
A public contest for creating the council logo would mean
II publicity for us . Another possibility would be to ask the
Centaurus Art Club to come up with a logo.
We need to agree on a procedure for sponsoring groups for
I applications . Applying P grant
pp ying groups will need to make their
presentations to the council and we will advise on and review
Ptheir applications .
Jennifer will report at the next meeting on a letter she received
from Dave Stahl regarding the council .
1
