•
1
•
Building Renovation: Donna Feldman explained the current state of paper
work in applying for Historic Building designation. Members discussed who is in
charge of the renovation project and agreed Steve Baysinger was that person.
Need for an alternate funding plan, in case Historic designation is denied, was
noted. Pat suggested hiring a grant writer for this and other LAHC funding needs.
Ways to fund a grant writer were discussed, and it was noted that background
research for writing a grant would increase costs. Pat suggested postponing
LAHC projects for the coming year to focus on rennovating the building. Anita
thought all users of the building should be required to contribute. Wanda
wondered if SCFD grant money could be used for renovation costs. A plan of
action Wc1J iiI.CJJdry, and a meeting of LAHC members June 20th to develop this
plan was yet.
g YAivI, Anita noted that things are moving along.
Performance Dance Workshop: Anita needs a box office person and an
assistant for the evening performance.
Film: Date is August 28, for The Wizard of Oz extended version. Pat
discussed her movie critic panel idea, and wants 4 - 5 people on the panel. She
plans to develop a mailing list by raffling off a video. Shannon is overseeing
refreshments, and reports that Java Emporium will put up a coffee stand. There
will be a popcorn machine and lemonade drinks. Posters will need to be
distributed.
Christmas Concert: Shannon said Bank One is donating $100 to the
concert. All parade events have been moved up to accomodate the concert. Scott
needs help or possibly a substitute, and Wanda tentatively agreed to help. A
proposal to Alfalfa's to sponsor the food drive was discussed.
Unfinished Business:
Support Policy: Anita needs a meeting with the Governing Board and other
groups on LAHC artist support rules. Governing Board should call a meeting and
send a letter of rules for building use. The Support Policy needs to go out first.
Wanda moved to accept the policy reviewed by members. Shannon seconded the
motion and it was passed.
Concepts of Love: it was noted that this event may be postponed,
depending on the progress of the building renovation.
Grant writer: The need for such a person was noted, but how to fund is not
• clear.
