<br />lcr~ <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />"Operator" means any person, partnership, association, firm, <br />or corporation who owns, operates, or manages a massage parlor <br />or maasage eatablishment. A manager of a massage parlor ep <br />cotabliahment must be twenty-one years of age or older. <br /> <br />E. <br /> <br />:~:cDJ~iz~d achoolll meana any i~stitution of learning :~~h <br />haa for 1. ta purpoae the teach1.ng of the theory, me , <br />profession, or worlc of masoage and which requires a resident <br />course of not less than one thousand hours for graduation and <br />certification. The in3truction shall include courses in <br />anatomy and physiology. If the school is located in the <br />~~ate, it must meet the qualifications established by Title <br />12, Article 59, Colorado Revised ctatutes of 1973, or other <br />applicable statutes pertaining to 70cational education. <br /> <br />5.16.020 Exemptions. <br /> <br />The following classes of persons and establishments are <br />exempted from the regulations of this chapter: <br /> <br />A. Physicians, osteopaths, physical therapists, chiropodists, <br />pOdiatrists, or chiropractors licensed to practice in this <br />state while performing such services in the practice of their <br />respective professions. <br /> <br />B. Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who are <br />licensed to practice in this state while performing such <br />services in their usual nursing duties; <br /> <br />C. Barbers and cosmetologists duly licensed under the laws of <br />this state in the course of the practice of their usual and <br />ordinary licensed vocation and profession, as defined in <br />Sections 12-8-101 and 12-17-103(3), Colorado Revised statutes <br />of 1973; <br /> <br />D. Massage practiced at the athletic department OR TRAINING ROOMS <br />of ftfty PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SCHOOLS accredited school BY THE <br />STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION OR APPROVBD iSY 'i'HE DIVISION CHARGED <br />WITH RESPONSIBILITY OF APPROVING PRIVATE OCCUPATIONAL SCHOOLS <br />or in3titution of higher education; <br /> <br />E. Hospitals, clinics, nursing and convalescent homes, and other <br />similar HEALTH CARE institutions dedicated to medical or <br />nursing practices licensed under the laws of this state.; <br /> <br />F. A FACILITY OPERATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF MASSAGE THERAPY BY A <br />MASSAGE THERAPIST; <br /> <br />G. TRAINING ROOMS OF RECOGNIZED PROFESSIONAL OR AMATEUR ATHLETIC <br />TEAMS. <br /> <br />2 <br />
