City Council
Meeting Minutes
March 4, 2014
Alan Sobel, 1408 Kennedy, Louisville, CO spoke on Open Government and referred to
the ballot initiative, which passed by a large margin. He felt the City is going backward.
He referred to minutes being delayed and difficulty finding information on the website.
He focused on questions sent to the City five years prior concerning the website and a
citizen's tech board. He suggested open government was still an important thing in the
City and wanted the City to move forward on it.
John Milanski, 450 Fillmore Court, Louisville, CO, has lived in Louisville 13 years and
been a firefighter for many of those. He reported he and many of his neighbors have
had to apply for variances due to zoning issues in the area he lives. He reported the
Planning staff has been helpful, but their hands are tied until re-zoning occurs. He
asked the Council to give this a higher priority.
Susan Honstein, 727 Pine St., Louisville, CO spoke of the Youth Art Show and invited
all to attend the event. Last year's event was well attended and gave local youth an
opportunity to exhibit their work.
APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA
A. Approval of the Bills
B. Approval of Minutes—February 18, 2014, February 24, 2014
C. Approval to Conduct a Special Meeting on March 11, 2014 for the purpose
of Discussion of Water and Wastewater Rates
D. Council member
Stolzmann noted the February 18, 2014 minutes were amended (Page 17, paragraph 3,
regarding the stream bed cleanup).
Mayor Muckle moved to approve the minutes as amended, seconded by Mayor Pro
Tem Dalton. All were in favor. Absent: Council members Keany and Jasiak.
COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE
AGENDA
Mayor Muckle responded to the comments about public access and noted the City is
working on a new website. The new website will be available sometime in the fall and
will make it easier to navigate through City Council packets. Older City Council packets
and minutes will also be available. He voiced his appreciation to Mr. Sobel for his
suggestions to improve the City's website.
