Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
March 17, 2014
• The commission would like to see the train cars moved to another site instead of
demolished.
• The building designs should take more cues from the history and architecture of
Louisville.
• The commission requests the garages on the south side of the development be
limited to 20 feet in height, to match the maximum allowed height for accessory
structures in Old Town.
• The commission believes the density of the development is compatible with the
adjacent neighborhood.
• The commission requests the design of the detention pond be modified to make
it a better neighbor to the existing homes to the south, particularly by removing or
reducing the height of retaining walls.
Items from Staff — NAPC Forum 2014
Robinson stated we received a grant for the NAPC Forum 2014 in Philadelphia. He
stated it pays for two staff and two commission members. He stated the conference is
usually Wednesday through Sunday.
Items from Commission Members —
None heard
Discussion Items for Next Meeting — April 21, 2014
Adjourn 8:50 p.m.
